Manee Horology
Watch workshop interior

Our workshop

A small room,
a steady hand,
and time taken.

Manee Horology has worked from the same address on Charoen Krung Road since its founding. We do one thing: look after mechanical timepieces with the attention they were built to receive.

Our story

How Manee Horology came to be.

The workshop grew out of a personal interest in how mechanical watches actually work — not as a philosophical abstraction, but as a practical question. What tolerances are held inside a running escapement? How does a lever interact with the escape wheel in a way that is repeatable across millions of oscillations? These are questions that require hands-on engagement to understand properly.

Manee Horology was set up to offer that kind of close attention to watch owners in Bangkok who care about their timepieces but do not have access to the sort of unhurried, technically grounded service that older, smaller watches often need. Charoen Krung Road felt right for a workshop of this type — it has been associated with trade and craft for a long time, and the neighbourhood does not rush.

We keep the scope of our work narrow by choice. Three services, performed carefully, without subcontracting. When a movement is beyond what we can address competently — certain vintage calibers, proprietary complications requiring manufacturer tooling — we say so plainly and suggest alternatives. This is not a limitation we apologise for; it is the only way to keep standards where they should be.

The workshop is open Tuesday through Saturday. Visits are welcome without prior arrangement, though a brief message beforehand is appreciated when bringing in a complicated piece for discussion.

Our mission

"To return a watch to its owner in better condition than it arrived — and to explain, clearly and in writing, what was done and why."

Charoen Krung Road, Bangkok

A fixed address, a known face. The same room, the same workbench.

Swiss & Japanese calibers

We work within a defined scope to maintain the quality of what we do.

Written reports, plain language

Every full overhaul comes with a written condition report. No jargon.

The people

Who you hand your watch to.

MT

Manee Thongchai

Workshop Principal

Trained in movement service and regulation over more than a decade working with Swiss calibers. Handles all full overhaul and calibration work personally.

PK

Pattaraporn Kongkiat

Case & Crystal Specialist

Focuses on case work, crystal fitting, and gasket replacement. Trained in hand polishing to original finish specifications — conservative by default.

SW

Siwat Wattanasak

Client Liaison

Manages correspondence and condition reporting. The first person you speak to, and the one responsible for keeping you informed throughout the service.

How we work

Standards that shape every service.

Ultrasonic cleaning

All disassembled parts pass through ultrasonic cleaning before any reassembly. Residual oils and debris from the previous service interval are removed before new lubricants are applied.

Position-specific lubrication

We apply oils matched to the contact point and movement specification — not a single general-purpose lubricant across all surfaces. This matters for longevity.

Five-position regulation

Timing is measured and adjusted across five wearing positions on a calibrated timing machine. Regulation in dial-up alone does not reflect how a watch performs on the wrist.

Written condition reports

Full overhauls are accompanied by a written account of what was found, what was done, and what to watch for in future. The document is yours to keep with the watch.

No work without agreement

If we discover the watch needs more than the service quoted, we contact you before continuing. A clear written estimate is provided. Nothing proceeds without your decision.

Your data, handled plainly

Contact information is used to communicate about your service and nothing else. We do not share client details with third parties and do not send marketing communications without request.

About the craft

Mechanical watch service in Bangkok

A mechanical watch is a closed system. Over time, lubricants degrade, particles accumulate, and tolerances shift. The consequences are gradual — a few seconds lost per day, a diminishing amplitude, an escapement that begins to stutter under certain conditions. A timely service restores the conditions the movement was designed to operate in.

Manee Horology works with the watchmaking infrastructure available in Bangkok: reliable parts channels for Swiss movements, access to timing equipment, and a measured approach to work that does not rush the outcome. Charoen Krung Road has a long association with commerce and skilled trades. We are a small part of that continuity.

What matters most to us

The quality of a watch service is largely invisible — you cannot tell from the outside whether the movement has been lubricated correctly or whether the timing adjustment will hold. That invisibility requires trust, and trust requires transparency. We try to earn it through clear communication, written documentation, and a workshop period on overhaul work.

We are not the fastest service in Bangkok. If a movement requires three weeks of careful work, it receives three weeks of careful work. Watches that have been maintained well over their lives tend to reward patience at service time.

We'd like to help

Bring your watch in for an assessment.

No obligation to proceed. We will tell you what the watch needs, what the work will cost, and how long it will take — before any agreement is made.
