Honest assessment before any work
We look at the watch first. You receive a clear picture of its condition and a written cost estimate before we begin.
Written documentation at every stage
Full overhauls come with a written condition report. Your watch returns with a record of what was found and what was done.
Timing verified across five positions
Regulation is measured on a timing machine across five wearing positions — not just checked in one and declared done.
Contact-appropriate lubrication
Different surfaces require different oils. We use the lubricant specified for each contact point, not a single catch-all product.
You know who is working on it
Work is not subcontracted. The person who receives your watch is the person who services it — in the same room, on the same bench.
Six-month workshop period on overhauls
If a fault develops from our work within six months of a full overhaul, we address it at no charge. The commitment is in writing.

Servicing a mechanical watch correctly requires familiarity with the specific caliber being handled. The tolerances inside an escapement are tight; the oils that belong at each contact point differ by surface speed and load. These distinctions matter over time, and they require experience rather than approximation.
Manee Horology works within a defined scope — Swiss and well-established Japanese calibers — so that the work we accept is work we can do properly. We do not attempt to service movements outside our competence, and we will say so plainly if a piece falls outside what we handle.

Process & tools
The right equipment, used in the right order.
A service performed without proper equipment will not hold. Parts cleaned in solvent rather than ultrasonics retain residue. Oils applied by approximation rather than specification degrade unevenly. Timing adjusted in one position fails in another.
We have invested in the equipment that the work requires. This is not an unusual claim — it is the baseline for doing the job correctly. We mention it because the difference between adequate and careful is not always visible, and it is worth knowing what you are paying for.
Communication
Kept informed at every stage — without having to ask.
Watch service can feel opaque. A piece is handed over; time passes; it returns — and the owner may not know exactly what happened in between. We find this unsatisfying, and we do not replicate it.
You receive a condition summary when the watch is assessed. If deeper work is required, you are contacted before it proceeds. When the watch is ready, you receive a written account of what was done. The communication is proactive, not in response to queries.

A correctly serviced mechanical watch can run well for a decade before it next requires intervention. The cost of a thorough service, spread across years of reliable use, is modest compared to the alternative of repeated partial repairs.

What sets us apart

Documented service history you can keep
Every full overhaul produces a written record of the movement's condition before and after service. This document stays with the watch and has practical value when the piece is eventually sold or next serviced.
Courier service available on request
Clients outside Bangkok can send pieces by insured courier. We provide guidance on packaging and handle all communication by email or phone throughout the service period.
Honest referrals when we cannot help
Certain pieces — unusual vintage movements, complicated proprietary calibers — are outside our scope. We say so clearly and, where possible, suggest where the owner might find appropriate help.
Conservative approach to case finishing
We polish case surfaces only where the original finish allows and where the owner requests it. The default is to leave original surfaces untouched, because over-polishing reduces both value and character.
